About Dr. Liz Dulaney-Cripe

The longer I've practiced medicine, the more I've come to appreciate that good healthcare isn't about having all the answers. It's about asking better questions, listening carefully, and understanding the whole person, not just the diagnosis.

My Story

My career began in orthopedic surgery, where I had the privilege of helping people recover from injuries, restore function, and return to the activities they loved. It was deeply rewarding work, but over time I noticed something that continued to shape the way I thought about medicine. Two patients could have the same surgery and very different recoveries. Some bounced back quickly. Others struggled despite receiving excellent care.
It made me curious.
What else was influencing healing? How did nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, hormones, inflammation, and metabolic health affect recovery? What could we do before surgery, or long before symptoms appeared, to improve long-term health?
Those questions led me to pursue additional training in integrative medicine and lifestyle medicine, expanding the way I care for patients beyond a single specialty. Today, my practice reflects both sides of that journey. I continue to value the precision of conventional medicine while embracing evidence-based strategies that help people build healthier, more resilient lives.
Whether someone is preparing for surgery, recovering from an injury, navigating menopause, addressing chronic pain, or simply wanting to feel healthier as they age, my goal is always the same: to understand their story, provide thoughtful guidance, and develop a plan that fits their life, not someone else's.
I don't believe healthcare should feel rushed or transactional. I believe it should feel collaborative. Because the best decisions happen when patients are informed, engaged, and treated as partners in their own care.
